| "Clear Creek"
is the name of two mountain streams in Colorado. One runs along I-70 west
of Denver. The other empties into the Arkansas River between Leadville and
Buena Vista. The second of those two streams has a special significance
in Clear Creek President Clif Guy's life.
At an elevation of 10,000 feet in the heart of the Rockies is a beautiful
campsite on the banks of Clear Creek that Clif's family visited almost
every summer of his childhood. It was during those annual camping trips
that Clif grew close to his father who worked very long hours seven days
a week as a full-time minister. In July 2001, twenty members of Clif's
extended family gathered at Clear Creek camp for a family reunion and
to scatter the ashes of Rev. Guy who had died earlier in the year.
When the company was formed in 1994, the name "Clear Creek"
was chosen as a fitting reminder of the values of family and integrity
upon which the company was founded.
